Soulful Second Sundays:
A New Gathering for Music, Connection & Community
Soulful Second Sunday is the creation of Utah local singer-songwriter Mary Tebbs in collaboration with beloved Utah musicians Will Baxter (pictured here with Mary) and drummer Mike Sorich
“My intention is to create an event where people walk out feeling altered by fullness, love, and vulnerability.”
Something special is taking shape on the Wasatch Front—an intimate new musical tradition built from the heart. Created by local singer-songwriter Mary Tebbs in collaboration with beloved Utah musicians Will Baxter and drummer Mike Sorich.
The idea for Soulful Second Sunday didn’t start with a marketing plan or a venue schedule. It started with a feeling—one Mary had been sitting with for months. “I recognized a depletion of in-person connection and I’ve been hungry for that myself,” she says. “So I figured I’d create something that matched what I wanted—love, intimacy, authenticity, laughter, connection, and a high-vibe experience. My intention is to create an event where people walk out feeling altered by fullness, love, and vulnerability.”
That vision has become the heartbeat of this new monthly gathering. A Musical Sanctuary, held on the second Sunday of every month at Vitalize Community & Healing Arts Studio. The series invites guests into a warm, relaxed space built around live music, shared presence and engagement, and genuine human connection.
The first gathering takes place December 14, 3–5pm and will showcase the soulful blend of Mary’s heartfelt storytelling and inspiring voice, Will’s signature groove and resonant vocals, and Mike’s rhythmic grounding.
These events are offered by donation (suggested $20 per person), making them open and accessible for anyone seeking a space to unwind, reconnect, or simply feel something real.
Soulful Second Sundays are more than a concert—they’re an invitation to sit in a room where phones stay down, spirits rise, and hearts open. An invitation to meet new friends, relax with old ones, and soak in the kind of music that shifts the energy in the room. An invitation to show up exactly as you are and leave feeling more grounded, edified, and more human. As Mary puts it, “I wanted to create the thing I had been missing.”
This new series is her offering to the community—and, perhaps, the beginning of a new Sunday ritual for anyone craving connection, creativity, and the transformative power of love and live music.
