Downtown Salt Lake City Concerts
Downtown Salt Lake City packs more live music into a few square blocks than anywhere else in Utah. On any given night you can catch an arena tour at the Delta Center, a sold-out club show at The Depot or Soundwell, the Utah Symphony at Abravanel Hall, or a songwriter in the 299-seat State Room. Most of these venues sit within a short walk or TRAX ride of each other, so dinner downtown before the show is easy. Show dates are listed by venue, in chronological order. Know Before You Go: Park in the Gateway underground garage or the Park Place lot; TRAX Blue or Green Line to the Arena stop puts you at the door. The venue occupies the 1908 Union Pacific Station — the same landmark that now houses the Asher Adams hotel — so dinner, a room and the show are all under one roof. 1,200 capacity, standing floor with balcony and box upgrades; nearly every spot is close. Age policy varies by show, so check the event page before you buy, and note that everyone 3 and up needs a full-price ticket. Clear bag 12"x6"x12" or a hand-sized clutch. Coat check inside.

Know Before You Go: Street parking only and it's limited, so plan on the Gateway garages and a walk — figure a half mile, west across the tracks into the industrial-arts district, and it's darker and quieter over there at night than downtown. Use the 300 North pedestrian bridge to cross. TRAX Green Line to North Temple Bridge/Guadalupe, or FrontRunner to North Temple a block southeast. Capacity runs up to 3,500, typically around 2,800 for concerts. Shows are general admission, standing room, unless the event page says otherwise. Accessible parking is on 500 West by the main gate.

Know Before You Go: Downtown across from the Salt Palace, in the former Elevate nightclub, remodeled and reopened as a music room in 2018. Capacity 600, general admission standing, two bars, and the kind of footprint where the back of the room is still close to the stage. No venue parking — street meters and private garages within a block or two, first-come and variable in price. TRAX Gallivan Plaza and Courthouse stops are a short walk. No bags larger than 10"x10", and all bags and persons are searched at the door. Age policy shifts by night: weekday shows are often all ages, Fridays and Saturdays typically 21+, so check the event page before you buy. Genres run wide — hip-hop, EDM, Latin, indie and hardcore all book here in the same month.

A mid-size room that runs a genuinely mixed calendar — touring indie and metal, dance parties, drag and alternative-lifestyle nights. Age policy splits by show and the venue flags each one as all-ages or 21+, so check before you buy. Street parking and nearby lots, metered in spots; arrive early. Tickets through 24Tix. Know Before You Go: Three rooms at one address, and your ticket names the one you're in — Rockwell (2,500, the flagship, where national tours land), The Grand (850), and the outdoor Lot. Rockwell and The Grand are both general admission standing and typically all ages, with 21+ bar areas inside; Rockwell has reservable elevated Premier Seating. Park at The Gateway garages a block east — all-day vouchers are $5 at the concessions counter during any event, which beats the garage rate. Street parking along 100 South and 600 West is unsecured and the no-parking zones get towed. TRAX Planetarium station is a short walk. No outside food or drink of any kind, including sealed or empty water bottles. No professional cameras without a media pass; point-and-shoot is fine. All rooms, restrooms and concessions are ADA accessible; Rockwell and The Lot have dedicated ADA sections with chairs, no special ticket needed — ask house staff. ADA parking is inside the main gates, first-come, placard required. EMTs are on site at every event, stationed at the Rockwell entrance.

Know Before You Go: Downtown at South Temple and West Temple, across from the Salt Palace and a block from Temple Square; TRAX Blue or Green Line to the Arena stop, and the same garages that serve Delta Center. Home of the Utah Symphony since 1979 and one of the best-sounding rooms in the country — the hall is literally a concrete building inside a brick one, sealing out street noise. About 2,768 seats, all reserved, with clear sightlines from the floor and both balcony tiers. Cashless venue; arrive early for security screening. Worth getting there with time to spare for the four-story glass lobby, which holds Dale Chihuly's red blown-glass Olympic Tower and frames views of Temple Square and the Wasatch.
