Baby Animals, Half a Million Tulips, and a Mammoth on a Winning Streak

Spring took hold of the Wasatch Front this week, and Thursday gives you every reason to lean into it — whether your Thursday calls for lambs and piglets, a sea of tulips, or a packed Delta Center.

Baby Animal Days | American West Heritage Center | April 9–11

One of Cache Valley's most beloved spring traditions opens today at the American West Heritage Center in Wellsville. Baby Animal Days runs through Sunday and puts families up close with newborn farm animals in a working pioneer setting. It's the kind of event that earns its reputation year after year — not because it's flashy, but because it's genuinely wonderful. If you have young children and haven't made the drive up to Wellsville for this, put it on the list. Wellsville is about an hour north of Salt Lake City, and the scenery along the way doesn't hurt. Details at awhc.org.

Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival | Lehi | Through May 16

More than half a million tulips are in bloom across 50 acres at Ashton Gardens right now, and the next few weeks represent peak viewing before the season winds down. The Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point is one of the most photographed events in Utah each spring — and for good reason. Morning visits tend to offer the best light and smaller crowds. If you've been putting it off, this week is the time. Tickets and hours at thanksgivingpoint.org.

Utah Mammoth vs. Nashville Predators | Delta Center | 7 PM

The Mammoth enter tonight's game riding a four-game winning streak and holding a 41-30-6 record, firmly in the playoff hunt. Tuesday night's 6-5 overtime win over Edmonton — fueled by a pair of Nick Schmaltz goals — has this team playing with genuine momentum as the regular season winds toward its close. Tonight's matchup against Nashville tips off at 7 PM at Delta Center. Dylan Guenther (37 goals, 32 assists on the season) is the name to watch. If you're going, doors open at 5:30 PM. Arms Around America | Kingsbury Hall | April 9–12

Los Angeles theater company Dan Froot & Company opens a four-night run tonight at Kingsbury Hall with Arms Around America — a production built from true stories of families whose lives have been shaped by guns in America. Intimate, unflinching, and deeply human, it's the kind of original theater that earns the drive to campus. Kingsbury Hall is at 1395 E. President's Circle on the University of Utah. Tickets at artstickets.utah.edu

Also Tonight: Hinder at The Complex If rock is more your Thursday speed, Hinder plays The Complex in Salt Lake City at 7 PM. Tickets at thecomplexslc.com.

Spring is short along the Wasatch. Get out there.
