🏆 The Wasatch Front’s Top 10 Upcoming Events
The Events That Define Summer 2026 Along the Wasatch Front
From a country superstar lighting up the sky over Provo on the nation's 250th birthday to a Pioneer Day tradition nearly two centuries in the making, this is the summer the Wasatch Front shows off. Below are the ten events we'd clear the calendar for between now and Labor Day. This is a living list — as one event passes, another takes its place, so check back before you make your weekend plans.
1 STADIUM OF FIRE — BRAD PAISLEY
Saturday, July 4 | LaVell Edwards Stadium, Provo | Tickets: tickets.byu.edu
There is no bigger night on Utah's summer calendar, and in a year marking America's 250th birthday, the 2026 Stadium of Fire is built to match the moment. Country superstar Brad Paisley headlines his first Provo appearance since 2011 — a homecoming for one of the genre's most celebrated live performers, with three Grammys, more than 11 million albums sold, and a catalog of hits from "Mud on the Tires" to "Waitin' on a Woman."
But anyone who's been knows the music is only half of it. The night also brings death-defying stunts from Nitro Circus, a set from Billboard-charting vocal quartet GENTRI, the Stadium of Fire Dancers, military flyovers, and tributes to the men and women who serve. It all builds to the finale that gives the event its name: a pyro, drone, laser, and flame spectacular billed as the largest stadium fireworks display in the nation — this year reimagined in honor of the 250th. Fifty thousand people fill LaVell Edwards Stadium for it, and the live broadcast is donated to American Forces Network, reaching service members in more than 100 countries.
(Editor's Note: This sells out, and the 250th will push it harder than usual. Buy now, not in late June.)
2 DAYS OF '47 RODEO & GRAND PARADE
Rodeo July 21–25 | Days of '47 Arena, Utah State Fairpark, Salt Lake City | Parade July 24, Downtown Salt Lake City | Tickets: utahdaysof47rodeo.com
No event on this list is more purely Utah. The Days of '47 Rodeo has celebrated the state's pioneer heritage since 1847, commemorating the day a determined company of pioneers first entered the Salt Lake Valley — and today it stands as the world's only "Gold Medal Rodeo," drawing the sport's elite to the $17.5 million Days of '47 Arena for five nights of bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc, breakaway roping, barrel racing, and bull riding. Each night closes with a drone and fireworks show, and the surrounding Frontier Fun Zone — petting zoo, pony rides, food trucks, and live music — is free to the public.
Then comes Pioneer Day itself. The Days of '47 Grand Parade has rolled through downtown Salt Lake City on July 24 since 1849, a three-hour procession of floats, bands, horses, and history that draws families to the curbs at sunrise. Between the rodeo and the parade, this is the week the whole valley leans into its roots.
(Editor's Note: Locals stake out parade spots the night before. Bring the kids, the chairs, and the sunscreen.)
3 ROD STEWART: ONE LAST TIME
Friday, June 19 | Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, West Valley City | Tickets: livenation.com
The British rock icon's farewell tour lands in Utah, and this may be the last chance to see one of music's most electrifying showmen under an open sky. Rod Stewart's One Last Time tour has been earning some of the best reviews of his storied career, and the West Valley stop features special guest Richard Marx. With more than 250 million records sold and two Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions to his name, Sir Rod delivers a setlist spanning decades — from "Maggie May" and "Forever Young" to "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" Expect leopard print. Expect confetti. Expect a night you'll talk about for years.
4 50TH ANNUAL UTAH ARTS FESTIVAL
June 18–21 | Library Square, Downtown Salt Lake City | Tickets:uaf.org
A golden anniversary for Utah's largest multidisciplinary arts celebration. For five decades, the Utah Arts Festival has transformed downtown every June, drawing more than 35,000 attendees to a four-day showcase of visual art, live music, dance, film, street theater, and culinary artistry. The milestone 50th edition is the most ambitious yet, with 800-plus artists and performers, an internationally recognized short-film program, an urban arts showcase, and a children's art yard packed with hands-on projects. It remains one of the last large-scale events of its kind in the country — a genuine cultural cornerstone, and a perfect first stop on the summer calendar.
5 PARK CITY KIMBALL ARTS FESTIVAL
August 7–9 | Historic Main Street, Park City | Tickets: kimballartsfestival.org
Now in its 56th year, the Kimball Arts Festival is Utah's longest-running visual arts festival and one of the most highly regarded in the West. Each August, roughly 200 jury-selected artists line Park City's Historic Main Street with work across 13 mediums — painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, woodwork, and more — while some 30,000 visitors browse, buy, and soak up the live music, food trucks, and mountain-town atmosphere. Artists keep every dollar of their sales, which topped $2 million last year, and proceeds support the Kimball Art Center's year-round programs. It's an easy day trip up the canyon and one of the most rewarding weekends of the summer.
6 IDINA MENZEL AT DEER VALLEY
Saturday, August 8 | Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater, Deer Valley Resort, Park City | Tickets: deervalleymusicfestival.org
Few voices are as instantly recognizable across generations as Idina Menzel's. The Tony Award–winning singer behind Wicked's "Defying Gravity" and Frozen's "Let It Go" takes the Snow Park stage backed by the Utah Symphony, performing selections from her Broadway and film catalog under the open mountain sky. Part of the Deer Valley Music Festival's 22nd season, it's the kind of evening — picnic on the lawn, blanket on the grass, world-class orchestra at golden hour — that makes a Park City summer night feel like an event in itself.
7 MAREN MORRIS AT RED BUTTE GARDEN
Monday, July 20 | Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre, Salt Lake City | Tickets:redbuttegarden.org
One of country-pop's most distinctive voices makes her Red Butte debut. A Grammy winner with crossover hits and a reputation for a commanding live show, Maren Morris brings her tour to the most beloved outdoor venue in the valley — terraced gardens, mountain backdrop, and a sound that fills the amphitheater as the sun goes down. Scout Willis opens. Red Butte shows are intimate and they sell fast, so this one rewards early planning.
8 RILEY GREEN — COWBOY AS IT GETS TOUR
Thursday, July 23 | Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, West Valley City | Tickets:livenation.com
Country's hottest new traditionalist brings the Cowboy As It Gets Tour to West Valley. Riley Green has ridden a string of platinum hits and one of the biggest crossover duets of the past two years into arena-headliner status, and his throwback, story-driven songwriting plays perfectly to a Wasatch Front crowd. Boots optional, but encouraged.
9 GIN BLOSSOMS + BLUES TRAVELER AT RED BUTTE
Tuesday, July 14 | Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre, Salt Lake City | Tickets:redbuttegarden.org
A '90s double bill tailor-made for a summer night, with Spin Doctors along for the ride. Between them, these three bands own a jukebox's worth of the decade's most enduring songs — Gin Blossoms' "Hey Jealousy," Blues Traveler's harmonica-driven "Run-Around" and "Hook," and the Spin Doctors' "Two Princes." It's nostalgia in the best sense: a singalong crowd, a perfect venue, and a setlist you've known by heart for thirty years.
10 UTAH SYMPHONY: FILM SCORES UNDER THE STARS
Thursday, August 13 | Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater, Deer Valley Resort, Park City | Tickets:deervalleymusicfestival.org
Our Family Pick. From a dragon's flight to a galaxy far, far away, the Utah Symphony brings the movies to life under the open stars at Deer Valley. The program spans Pirates of the Caribbean, Mission: Impossible, How to Train Your Dragon, and Disney classics like Beauty and the Beast — the kind of melodies that land instantly with kids and grown-ups alike. Spread out a blanket, pack a picnic, and let the orchestra do the rest. If you're introducing the family to live symphonic music, there's no better on-ramp than this.
