The Wasatch Front comes alive from March through August with an extraordinary run of events β flower festivals and indie music marathons, rodeos and county fairs, bluegrass in the mountains and open-air concerts under canyon sunsets. Here is your season-by-season guide to everything worth circling on the calendar.
Festival of Colors
In Spanish Fork, Ogden and Salt Lake

Three locations along the Wasatch Front in 2026. Inspired by the Hindu tradition of Holi, the Festival of Colors transforms the foothills of Spanish Fork into a riot of pigment each spring. Thousands gather on the temple grounds for live mantra music, dancing, and the signature color throws β massive synchronized releases of colored powder that cloud the sky and coat everyone in the crowd. The energy is infectious and the photos are unforgettable. Wear clothes you don't mind permanently staining, bring eye protection, and arrive early.

Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point
Voted Utah's Best Festival for ten consecutive years, the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point is one of the nation's largest spring flower events. Over six weeks, more than one million flowers β tulips imported from Holland alongside daffodils, hyacinths, poppies, and more β transform 50 acres of Ashton Gardens into an immersive landscape of color and fragrance. Curated garden beds, whimsical topiary displays, bold floral dΓ©cor, and new installations are added each year. Beyond the gardens, guests enjoy live entertainment, interactive workshops, garden tours, food trucks, and family-friendly activities. It is a full day's experience for couples, families, and garden enthusiasts alike.

Kilby Block Party
The Kilby Block Party has become one of the most acclaimed independent music festivals in the country β and it's right in Salt Lake City's backyard. What started in 2019 as a one-day celebration of Kilby Court's 20th anniversary has grown into a 25,000-attendees-per-day destination event drawing fans from across the world. The 2026 edition marks the seventh year, and the lineup is as stacked as ever: headliners include Lorde, The xx, Turnstile, Hayley Williams, Modest Mouse, and Alex G, alongside Blood Orange, Lucy Dacus, Father John Misty, Japanese Breakfast, Magdalena Bay, and 70 artists total. The festival expanded its Utah State Fairpark footprint this year, with additional stage configurations to reduce audio bleed and more open space for crowds to move.

Ogden Music Festival (OFOAM)
Hosted by Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music, the Ogden Music Festival is a beloved three-day celebration of bluegrass, Americana, Celtic, folk, singer-songwriter, and roots music in one of Ogden's most beautiful outdoor settings. The festival features a mix of nationally touring headliners and rising regional artists, alongside camping, instrument workshops, and dedicated kids' activities. It has a genuinely communal spirit β bring a blanket, pull up a camp chair, and settle in.

Red Butte Garden Outdoor Concert Series
Widely considered Utah's most beautiful outdoor concert setting, Red Butte Garden's summer series wraps a full season of national touring acts in the natural backdrop of the foothills above the University of Utah. Past lineups have featured everyone from Lyle Lovett and Brandi Carlile to Lake Street Dive and Marcus Mumford. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and low-back chairs to the sloped lawn; outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are permitted. The garden itself is worth the visit on any evening.

OremFest
ABC 4 news report from the OremFest celebration two years ago in Orem, Utah.
Orem's city-produced summer festival is one of Utah County's largest annual celebrations β a full week of community events building to a carnival, parade, and fireworks finale. The main festival days fill City Center Park with 20-plus food vendors, 60-plus boutique booths, carnival rides, kids' crafts, live entertainment, and a drone show. Earlier in the week the fun spreads across the city with a car show, pool party, golf tournament, pickleball, and talent competition. The Saturday night fireworks cap the week in style. Casual, family-friendly, and deeply local.

Fork Fest
Fork Fest is American Fork's community-centered summer festival β live music, local food vendors, and family-friendly activities in a park setting. It draws a loyal crowd from across Utah Valley and is an excellent introduction to summer on the Front. Casual, easygoing, and welcoming to all ages.

Ogden Twilight Concert Series
Ogden Twilight is Northern Utah's signature summer concert series, bringing nationally touring indie, alternative, electronic, and hip-hop acts to the intimate downtown Ogden Amphitheater on summer evenings. The experience is part concert, part community gathering β affordable tickets, food trucks, full bars, and a crowd that values the music. Past headliners have included Bon Iver, Modest Mouse, Khruangbin, Band of Horses, Wilco, Phoenix, and The Flaming Lips. The 2026 lineup will be announced closer to the season.

What to Know: The amphitheater is intimate and general admission on the lawn. Arrive early for a good spot. Outside food is not permitted, but vendors are on-site. All events are rain or shine. Tickets required for ages 4 and up.
America's Freedom Festival at Provo
The Grand Parade in Provo, Utah on July 4th is expected to attract over 300,000 visitors. Here is a report from the Parade in 2025. Great family event.
One of the most ambitious Independence Day celebrations in the country, America's Freedom Festival is a multi-week event anchored in Provo that draws hundreds of thousands of people from across Utah Valley and beyond. The centerpiece is the July 4th Grand Parade β the largest in the western United States β winding down University Avenue with marching bands, professionally crafted floats, giant helium balloons, equestrian entries, and military and first responder tributes. The full festival runs from late June through the Fourth and includes a hot air balloon festival, Stadium of Fire (a patriotic concert and fireworks spectacular at LaVell Edwards Stadium), a Freedom Run, Colonial Fest, Military History Days, Softball and Pickleball tournaments, and more. It is a Utah tradition on a grand scale.

What to Know: The Grand Parade draws upward of 350,000 spectators β arrive very early and plan your parking in advance. Spectators may claim a spot along University Avenue no earlier than 3pm on July 3rd per Provo City ordinance. Bleacher seat tickets typically go on sale in early June and sell out quickly.
Twilight Concert Series β Salt Lake City
Presented by the Salt Lake City Arts Council and S&S Presents, the Twilight Concert Series has been running for nearly four decades and remains one of downtown SLC's most beloved summer traditions. Six evenings of nationally known headliners paired with local openers fill Library Square and the Gallivan Center with thousands of music fans as the summer sun fades. Tickets are among the most affordable in the market for the caliber of artists on the bill. The 2026 lineup will be announced in spring.

Strawberry Days Festival
Billed as Utah's oldest ongoing community celebration, Strawberry Days has been a Pleasant Grove tradition for over a century. The festival spans several days with parades, concerts, carnival rides, and β as the name promises β plenty of strawberry-themed treats. A genuine slice of Utah Valley summer life. Fiesta Days
One of Utah Valley's most spirited summer celebrations, Fiesta Days fills a full week with parades, concerts, rodeos, and a dramatic fireworks finale. The event has a deep community character and draws families from across Utah County. The rodeo nights are a highlight.

Wasatch County Fair Days
Running nearly ten days across two venues, Wasatch County Fair Days is one of the most complete small-town fair experiences in the state. The schedule includes a Demolition Derby (July 23β25) that is the largest in Utah and sells out in advance every year, the Mountain Valley Stampede Rodeo (July 30), live country music and outdoor movies at Southfield Park, a Country Market and Carnival (July 29), fair exhibits, and the Party in the Park talent showcase. Heber Valley is only 45 minutes from Salt Lake City and worth the drive.

Weber County Fair
The Weber County Fair brings classic fair traditions to the Ogden area: livestock shows, carnival rides, local vendors, live entertainment, and rodeo action over four days in early August.

Raspberry Days
Garden City's annual Raspberry Days celebrates the region's iconic raspberry harvest with music, a parade, a rodeo, and vendors selling every raspberry product imaginable β jam, shakes, syrup, pie. It is a beloved late-summer road trip for Wasatch Front families, with Bear Lake as a spectacular backdrop.

Utah County Fair
One of the best values on the summer calendar β the Utah County Fair offers free admission and free parking at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds. Highlights include an authentic western rodeo with bull riding, barrel racing, and roping; monster trucks; demolition derbies (ticketed); a petting zoo and kids' inflatables; live entertainment; agricultural exhibits; and a full lineup of food vendors. Nestled at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, the setting alone makes it worth attending.

Swiss Days
One of Utah's most charming heritage festivals, Swiss Days celebrates Midway's Swiss pioneer roots with folk music, traditional dancing, Swiss food, artisan vendors, and a parade. Held in the scenic Heber Valley the weekend before Labor Day, it draws enormous crowds to the tiny city of Midway β parking fills up very early and shuttles are recommended.

Utah State Fair
The Utah State Fair has been a cornerstone of the state's agricultural and cultural heritage for more than 150 years β and it remains one of the biggest events of the year along the Wasatch Front. Spread across 65 acres at the Utah State Fairpark in Salt Lake City, the eleven-day run features live rodeo action, carnival rides, a full midway, local crafts, fine arts, agricultural exhibits, live music and entertainment, and the kind of fair food that justifies making an exception to your diet. Peach Days β Brigham City

Running since 1904, Brigham City's Peach Days is the longest continually celebrated harvest festival in Utah and one of the oldest in the country. The two-day event draws approximately 75,000 people to historic downtown Brigham City the weekend after Labor Day and celebrates the region's legendary peach harvest in full community style. Over 200 vendor booths line the streets with crafts, food, and every peach product imaginable β jam, shakes, syrup, fresh fruit, and more. The full lineup includes two parades, a Peach Queen Pageant, Peach Days Car Show, motorcycle show, carnival, and live entertainment. A road-trip-worthy end-of-summer tradition.

Fun at Hogle Zoo
Perched on the foothills of Emigration Canyon since 1931, Hogle Zoo is Salt Lake's top paid family attraction β 42 acres of tree-shaded walkways, 800+ animals, and one of the most respected AZA-accredited zoos in the country. One of only two free-standing aviaries in the United States, Tracy Aviary has been a Salt Lake institution for more than 80 years. π¦ Loveland Living Planet Aquarium
The ninth-largest aquarium in the nation sits in Draper, just 20 miles south of downtown Salt Lake City β and it regularly surprises first-time visitors with its scale and variety. Home to more than 4,500 animals across five immersive ecosystems, the centerpiece is a 300,000-gallon shark habitat with a 40-foot walk-through tunnel. A brand-new expanded Asia building opened in early 2026, joining exhibits that already include clouded leopards, gentoo penguins, giant river otters, and South American wildlife.
What to do: Walk the shark tunnel, visit the Gentoo Penguin Research Station, and explore the newest Expedition: Asia building. The Thanksgiving Point campus in Lehi is one of the most ambitious family destinations in the western United States β a sprawling complex that could fill an entire day (or multiple visits) without repeating itself. The two standout non-museum experiences are the Ashton Gardens and Farm Country.
Ashton Gardens spreads across 50 acres and features the largest man-made waterfall in the Western Hemisphere, a Monet-inspired lake, cascading Italian stone basins, a fragrance garden, rose garden, outdoor concerts and movies, and the beloved springtime Tulip Festival. Golf carts, electric scooters, and wheelchairs are available to rent. Free guided garden tours are included with admission.
Farm Country is a genuine working farm experience β not a petting zoo β where kids can milk cows, ride ponies, feed animals, and explore Curiosity Farms, a high-tech agriculture showcase in the heart of Silicon Slopes that makes the agricultural sciences come alive.

π Wheeler Historic Farm
One of the Salt Lake Valley's most quietly beloved destinations, Wheeler Historic Farm is a genuine 75-acre working farm operated as a public park by Salt Lake County β and it's completely free to enter. Tucked in the southeast valley near Murray, the property has been farmed since the mid-1800s and includes a beautifully restored 1896 Victorian farmhouse, meadows, wooded trails, and a full cast of farm animals going about their actual agricultural lives.
What to do: Walk the grounds and visit cows, horses, chickens, pigs, sheep, goats, turkeys, and rabbits. Take a tractor-drawn wagon ride through Wheeler Woods and the back 40. Watch (or participate in) a cow-milking demonstration. Tour the Victorian farmhouse, stocked with over 6,000 authentic artifacts from the 1890sβ1940s. In fall, the annual Pumpkin Days event with a corn maze and pumpkin patch is a Wasatch Front family rite. The Wheeler Sunday Market (MayβOctober) also runs on the grounds β a farmers market worth factoring into your visit.

π Utah Olympic Park
Built for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics and still an active USOPC training site today, Utah Olympic Park is one of the most genuinely unique destinations in the Mountain West β and one that rewards both thrill-seekers and those who simply want to witness elite athletes in training. The nearly 400-acre Park City facility houses one of only four sliding tracks in North America, six Nordic ski jumps, and two world-class museums. With the 2034 Winter Olympics returning to Salt Lake City, this venue's legacy is just getting started.
What to do: The two on-site museums β the Eccles 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum and the Alf Engen Ski Museum β are both free and outstanding. For the adventurous, the Summer Gold Pass unlocks unlimited access to the alpine slide, extreme tubing down Olympic ski jumps, ziplines, ropes courses, and an airbag jump tower. The signature experience is the Comet Bobsled ride: a pilot-guided run down the actual 2002 Olympic track at over 60 mph with 4β5 Gs of force. Book it in advance. In winter, visitors can watch the next generation of Olympic hopefuls launch off ski jumps into the training pool below β free to observe from the grounds.

Utah's only amusement park has been part of Wasatch Front family life since 1886 β predating Utah statehood by ten years.
